Whilst the internet is awash with funny memes regarding the Bring Your Own Beer Party in May 2020 at No 10, there is a really serious issue here and it is one of trust, anger and hurt.
The country and the majority of the people were law abiding with regards to staying away from our loved ones for fear of infecting them, and because our Government told us that it was the only way to make sure that we were protecting the NHS. We lived through the pain of separation from not seeing our loved ones and that was something that affected us all.
We continued our isolation and like most people I had to see my grandchildren through a window, or drop supplies off with mum and in both cases not being able to kiss or hug them or the sad sight last year of our beloved Monarch at the funeral of her beloved husband of 73 years. Her Majesty sitting on her own at the funeral of HRH Prince Phillip, the Duke of Edinburgh summed up the pain of the nation, and where we all felt for a 95 year old woman mourning the loss of her husband and if a Queen could obey the laws…then so could we.
How disgusting that we then find out that No 10 was sending out emails to a 100 people working in their building to a Bring Your Own Bottle party for cheese nibbles and sausage rolls. It seems that it doesn’t matter if you are Queen or commoner, you will obey the law unless you work for a Conservative Government in No 10.
It is understood that around 40 staff – thought to include the PM and his wife Carrie – met for drinks and food from 6pm on May 20, 2020, at a time when only two people were allowed to socialise outside while two metres apart under national Covid curbs. A bombshell email leaked on Sunday proved that Boris Johnson’s principal private secretary Martin Reynolds invited more than 100 staff to bring their own drinks to No10’s lavish gardens to ‘make the most of the lovely weather’. For me this was it….I had already decided that Boris Johnson was dishonest in his approach to this country and the way we were locked down. The dishonest way Covid deaths were counted even if the person had passed away from something else to massage the figures to scare us, and then the dodgy PPE contracts for mates to the tunes of billions of our money , and lets not forget my favourite disaster the head of track and trace who was a chum of the PM resulting in the whole thing costing £35 billion and going up…..and for me….the straw that broke the camels back….a party at the height of a pandemic.
The fact that we were lied too and laughed at by the very people who were deciding that the laws they put in did not apply to them, and having to watch my autistic grandchildren getting worked up because their normal weekend routine was disrupted was heart breaking and it was only by getting them laptops to talk to them on skype that gave them some comfort, followed by lots of gifts being sent to them from us to show them that we had not forgot them and still loved them, and then the not seeing my mother who lives alone and like most of our senior people only had their TV for comfort.
She struggled everyday without seeing her children and her grandchildren and we don’t know how long she has but we have been robbed of the time with her, and then to see this, and the worry of our son who lived on his own about how to get food. More than once we did an emergency food drop and to have to stand away from him and not being able to hug him broke my heart.
Well, Boris and the Conservative Government…that is me out. I will be blogging every dishonest statement, lie and cover up that this Government does until this Prime Minister is removed from power, and there is a General Election as I like millions of others are disappointed to the point of anger.
I do hope that Boris Johnson and his dodgy Government now realises that nobody is going to follow their rules, after all what can they do….send in the police? When the Government does not follow its own rules then the public cannot be expected to do so and the precedence is there…..so good luck Boris trying to get the red wall back again, as from what I can see he has lost the blue one too.
