Bobby Leach was a dare-devil who throughout his career parachuted from hot air balloons, climbed rope ladders between speeding aeroplanes, and performed high diving feats. He is most famous for being the first man to go over the Niagara Falls in a barrel and survive – a stunt he completed in 1911.

He died in Auckland, New Zealand in 1926 after tripping on an orange peel that someone had dropped on the street.
