When life rewards you with grandchildren.

Today is my grandson’s birthday. He is 14 today.๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽ‚๐ŸŽ๐ŸŽˆ๐ŸŽ‰๐Ÿฐ๐ŸŽ‚๐ŸŽ‚

He is my heart, my joy and my pride and I can remember the day he arrived. I had just turned 41 and had the most amazing experience of seeing him born. The miracle of birth is something you never forget…

Leaving the hospital on Cloud 9….and feeling so much love for this little bundle who had arrived in the world, and from that moment I was nana..and that time has passed so quickly.

That little bundle of joy is now taller than I am…and I was never considered short at 5ft 7″. He always has time for a cuddle and the pure delight on both our faces when we see each is love.

The arrival of him and his siblings made my life complete, and I truly believe that grandchildren are one of the greatest joys your children can give you.

Everything he and his siblings achieve is for me amazing, and he wants to be a paleontologist. We are at that stage in his life where we are discussing colleges and universities.

Have told him that he will get driving lessons and a car at 17…from me and grandad, and telling him again and again that he can do anything he wants to. He knows he is loved and supported, and he loves and supports us back. It is one of those joys that cannot be put into words.

From his first word which was nana to now where I scratch my head as his intelligence as it is far beyond mine. To say he is clever is beyond description…and I know some people will say rose coloured glasses and yes I do…with all of them. They are simply the most beautiful, delightful, thoughtful little people on the planet and I love them dearly.

So, this afternoon I will be spending the time with the birthday boy and I couldn’t think of a more perfect Sunday.

Happy birthday darling boy and both grandad and I love you with all our heart.
