Children who die in hot cars.

I am a cynic when it comes to parents claiming they have forgotten that their child was in the car, and the child subsequently dies from heat exhaustion after being left for hours in temperatures that can only be described as torturous.

As a mother of 3 I know how hectic life can be but when I put the children in the car, I knew I had 3 in the car as I could see them in the mirror, and of course hear them. A parent had to have lifted the baby or small child in or out of the vehicle, and even when dropping off one child do they not look at the car? How can you not see a child??

A child even asleep in their chair makes a noise, and do they never look in their mirror? I just cannot accept that young children are dying so needlessly.

This is total stupidity and I cannot for the life of me work out how they could forget the most important thing they have in the car and in their life.

The law should come down hard on these parents as the torture these poor children go through does not bear thinking about. It is awful, it is abuse and why have the car makers not come up with a way of telling people that there is still someone in the car? It needs to create one. It needs to send a motion sensor alert to the owner via text or email or ring the damn phone to let them know that there is movement in their car.

I have motion sensor lights at the front and back of my home and it lets me know every time, so why can they not create something similar. Surely it is worth the cost of doing this to save a life. A child’s life. A child who has been killed in the most awful manner.

A three-year-old boy has died after his foster carer accidentally left him in her SUV for hours in 92F heat after thinking she had dropped him off at day care in South Carolina

  1. I totally agree with you on this. I don’t think there is any excuse for a parent to forget about their child. I feel that they should be held accountable just like any other murderer. It’s appalling how many parents claim to have forgotten that their children were in the car. It’s time for them to start taking accountability for their actions.
