I read with growing disgust the antics of one Roy Greenslade, formerly a visiting Professor of Media at City, University of London at who ran the Guardian Newspaper, and who wrote articles for the Evening Standard, whilst also writing under a pseudonym for an IRA newspaper.
The fact that he chose to hide his support for the murderous IRA shows just what a type of loathsome individual he is, and he has no morals and certainly should not be given any sympathy. He acted in such a way that could be described as treasonous as he wrote lies, misinformation and spin regarding the deaths of British Soldiers, Government Ministers and those who were caught up in the violence whilst writing how wonderful the IRA are under his assumed name. What a coward. He did not even have the guts to put himself forward. He is along the lines of McGuinness and Adams….trying to distance themselves from it whilst actively encouraging it and it is all for the sake of money and standing in the community. Is there anything lower than that……most people at least have the guts to come out…but obviously not people like Greenslade.
We only have to read today of how a journalist Liam Clarke who was threatened with death because he wanted to write a journalistic piece on how the IRA were tearing itself apart, was forced to leave his home. Not only him but his wife and two children and the most unbelievable piece is that Mr Clarke would have had to have given Greenslade the full details of where he was regarding Safe Houses because the paper picked up the cost. At all times and without knowing this family had let the fox into the hen house and where he was in danger 24/7 because of the person they thought had some moral upstanding, and who you think would act in their best interest. Guess finding out you are wrong can be really upsetting.
The poor family then had to spend the rest of their lives in a form of hiding in a way and all because of wanting to do his journalistic piece, and now the widow of Mr Clarke must be feeling as if the wind has been knocked out of her as the very man they trusted, and to think that whilst the Country was reeling in disgust at the murders, the tortures and the mafia type running of the IRA, Greenslade was positively ecstatic and writing away under his pseudonym the glee he felt at the murders, as under his own pen he wrote the most malicious lies concerning our military and this spin that Josef Goebbels himself would have been proud of.
As a veteran of the Army I feel total disgust at this individual and he knew that writing such articles would have angered people, thereby driving more people to the cause because of his lies and the upshot is more attacks as journalists write for click baits a lot of the time, this would have resulted in more murders of our loyal servicemen and women, police and prison officers, as well as the attempted murder of a sitting Prime Minister and her Cabinet, and lets not forget this individual stood surety for John Downey, the IRA murder who took part in the 1982 Bombing of Hyde Park which killed 4 soldiers and military horses. What sort of lowlife would do that???.
Greenslade must now be fully investigated for his role in this as his spin, his lies would have created more hate and more derision and for this he must be investigated for his crimes against the state. As anytime a journalist who cowardly writes under a different name to cause mass unrest is as guilty as those who fired the weapons, as without his spin the unrest would not have grown to the size it is.
This man must be shunned by all in society as he has given comfort to the enemy and for that he must face a court of law as all traitors must. He must not be allowed to sit comfortably in his retirement but he must by force if necessary be made to face the full might of the law.
I am so sorry for the widow of Mr Clarke that she has so many unanswered questions and one of which is how much did Greenslade know? Did he have anything to do with it? Sadly, like all cowards he will not answer her but instead sit nursing his hurt pride because we have seen him for what he is and that is an enemy of everything decent, everything law abiding and an enemy of the people. His backing of the IRA is not something to celebrate and it sticks in my throat that have such a duplicitous man being able to just step down without having to answer for his actions is wrong. He needs to be brought up for his acts against the Crown and hopefully they will find a nice prison cell for him as he deserves nothing less.
In his own words he has actively shown that he had no care nor concern that members of the British Military would be murdered by his chums. It really does leave you feeling nauseous at the sight of him. Best thing is to pop him down in a military town and tell those who have suffered what he believes, and see if he can talk his way out of his disgusting stance……my bet would be on the military.
