Pope Francis has vowed to uproot the evil of child abuse that is rife in the Catholic Church.
Well, el papa the first thing you have to realise is that it is not natural to be celibate and that it is time for Priests to have a partner, and I find it disgusting that the Catholic Church has stated often that this is because of gay men. Absolutely outrageous…..
I know some gay men and they are the most loving, warm, generous individuals and never would they touch children and I find it obscene that this pope and the institution he represents would even blame a group of people who already have a hard life…..with crimes that they have nothing to do with. Shame on the church for that.
As Christopher Hitchens stated in a debate on whether the Catholic Church is a force for good that he would be honoured to have Stephen Fry babysit his children, and they would be so lucky to have him there but if a priest turned up he would call the police….
Why has child abuse come out with Catholic Church again, well YET AGAIN there is a report regarding the abuse of children by one Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, and despite knowing what did the Vatican do…PROMOTE HIM.
There are some very sick individuals who live and work in the Vatican and to do so under the guise of working for Jesus. The Catholic Church is not a force for good but rather a place for paedophiles to hide and it needs to be stopped.
Cardinal Theodore McCarrick repeatedly abused adults and children.
James Grein, who accuses McCarrick of abusing him for two decades beginning as a boy, said he was hopeful it would bring some relief as well as a chance to ‘clean’ up the church. ‘There are so many people suffering out there because of one man,’ Grein said. ‘And he thinks that he´s more important than the rest of us. He´s destroyed me and he´s destroyed thousands of other live … It´s time that the Catholic Church comes clean with all of its destruction.’
He was left free to abuse under John Paull II ….’Believing that the allegations had already been reviewed and rejected by Pope John Paul II, and well aware that McCarrick was active during the papacy of Benedict XVI, Pope Francis did not see the need to alter the approach that had been adopted.’
Francis changed course after a former altar boy came forward in 2017 alleging that McCarrick groped him when he was a teenager during preparations for Christmas Mass in 1971 and 1972 in New York.
This is only the tip of the iceberg as we read time and time again that paedophile priests are abusing children and is not just in the Catholic Church, and it is sickening that these men seem to be free to abuse children and vulnerable adults at will, and the church will protect the abusers and not the abused.
The Catholic Church is really not fit for purpose whilst it continues allowing priests to abuse, molest and rape children. It seems that giving them prayer penance is the punishment from the church, and a lifetime of shame and destroying their lives is what the children are left with.
If Jesus could see what these men were doing in his name he would weep.
The only true sentence for child abusers and rapists should be life in prison or hanging from a rope.
