The whole of the system within Parliament.
It seems that time and time again we are subjected to the endless depressing speeches from the Health Secretary and MPs. We are told that we need to be out of the bar or pub by 10pm, and in fact in Scotland they have shut the pubs down. It does not bother me as I don’t drink and very rarely go out but how galling for those who do to find out that the ruling doesn’t apply to MPs, or they have decided it does not apply to them.
It seems that some of the MPs decided that the bar in Parliament is not subjected to the 10pm lockdown. Are they for real?? I know the Speaker ordered that they obey the same lockdown rules and I actually like the Speaker very much as he has his finger on the pulse of what the people think, and how MPs are expected to behave but it seems a lot of those who sit on the green benches don’t.
You want the people to follow your rules and explain it is all the for the best but then off you go and drink yourself stupid in a place that the little people cannot attend.
Not only that but oh the jolly japes of making a joke out of the joke that is the track and tracing system. Has Matt Hancock got a career death wish? A senior Tory MP told The Mail on Sunday that Mr Hancock remained in the Smoking Room bar until at least 10.25pm, despite Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle insisting that Commons venues must abide by the same 10pm drink-up-and-leave curfew as all English pubs.
I guess rules are only for the little people eh Mr Hancock, oh and the joke is not remotely funny……Just before a 9.40pm vote ordered a glass of white wine and announced: ‘The drinks are on me – but Public Health England are in charge of the payment methodology so I will not be paying anything.’ Now call me old fashioned but that is not funny….so he is now rubbish at his job and could not get a job as a comedian.
Asked by a reporter today whether the joke was ‘appropriate’ from the person in charge of the system today, Communities Secretary Robert Jenrick refused to reply despite several opportunities to. I think it is obvious to those in power that he is turning into a joke and he needs to be fired.
Matt Hancock is now under pressure to apologise for his crass joke, but he needs to apologise for the absolute mess he is making of this Covid 19 pandemic. The people have lost faith in him and that should be obvious to the Government and to the Prime Minister. People have died because of this horrible virus and to make a joke of it really is terrible. Imagine how painful it must be to those relatives who have been left behind.
Is there nobody in Parliament on the Conservative side who can do a better job? As the current occupant is useless, bloody useless.
