It seems that we are losing the battle against the rise of Covid 19. I think it is about time that all the politicians stopped trying to score political points and come up with something, or get out of the way for those who can.

We do not want a lock down again but it is going that way and the mental health of quite a few people will suffer and they cannot be left on their own. I have not suffered from mental health but I have worked in mental health and it is cruel to let people deal with what must be an awful time. but it is rising and it is not one group that is doing it and it is wrong to blame one group over another. There is a current message going round that the increase in the North of England is because of 18 – 25 year olds and it is wrong to blame the youngsters as they are just young and how many of us listened at that age? We need to educate not lay blame.

Meanwhile, a Public Health England surveillance report published yesterday showed only three places across England have not recorded a rises in their per-person Covid-19 infection rates in the past week - Luton, Wolverhampton and Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly

We have General Bluff (promoted Starmer from Captain Hindsight), and he has told the Government to get a grip…..wow….I could have told them that..so is there other words of wisdom or just the usual whinging?

Rishi Sunak is trying to keep as many people employed and it is great when you are in the shadow cabinet and you can comment knowing that you will never be called upon to put our money where your mouth is, and I don’t know about you but I am getting rather fed up of Labour doing a lot of nothing but trying to cause political arguments. If they have nothing to offer then shut up as this is peoples lives and finances we are talking about and it might be jolly japes to criticise Boris and the Government, but when you have nothing to offer it really shows how shallow you are and like everything else General Bluff is shallow.

There needs to be a more concerted effort to bring in a lockdown procedure that covers all 4 corners of the Kingdom and if that means having to deal with Sturgeon then so be it. She is after all responsible for Scotland (hopefully not much longer), but she should be included on all decisions along with Wales and Northern Ireland. It will show good faith and have everyone working off the same song sheet. and this virus has gone on too long now and something needs to be done.

However, Labour have not been voted in and the country rejected them and therefore they should not sit in on any decisions, unless they can shut up for two minutes and offer a solution. If its a good one then explore it but I don’t Starmer has anything to offer as he will be like a rabbit in the headlights if you actually asked him to be statesman like for just once.

The Shadow Chancellor has no idea of the financial mess we are in and it is not the fault of the Government and especially not the Chancellor. I am just grateful it is Rishi Sunak who is in charge and not Labour.

Chancellor Rishi Sunak's Treasury faces having to foot the bill for another furlough scheme as large chunks of the country prepare to return to near-lockdown

RISHI SUNAK TO ANNOUNCE NEW LOCAL LOCKDOWN FURLOUGH SCHEME TODAY (Daily Mail 09/10/20)

Rishi Sunak will today announce a new local furlough scheme which is expected to pay two thirds of the wages of employees who are unable to work because of lockdowns.

The Treasury has confirmed the Chancellor will be making an announcement later on how he intends to ‘provide a safety net’ for businesses which ‘may have to close in the coming weeks’.

The promise of fresh support for jobs comes as the Government prepares to unveil its new three tier strategy for local lockdowns next week.

Parts of the country which are put in the highest tier are due to be told that pubs, restaurants and cafes will have to close to slow the spread of coronavirus.+27

The prospect of widespread closures across the hospitality industry in hotspot areas has prompted warnings of massive job losses and fuelled calls for the Chancellor to bring forward fresh support.

However, any fresh spending announced by Mr Sunak will raise further fears about the pressure on the government finances with borrowing already set to top £300 billion this year.

The furlough plans emerged as the Office for National Statistics announced that the UK economy grew by just 2.1 per cent in August – much lower than had been expected.

We are essentially at war ladies and gentlemen with an enemy we cannot see and cannot touch but it is a war and there are casualties. I support the Government in what they are doing and I don’t like it but I have to support it. I cannot see my beloved son, grandchildren, my daughter and son in law or my mum but I would like to go into 2021 with them and so doing as I am told is the most obvious choice.

It is not a lot to ask and whilst we criticise Boris Johnson can you imagine the horror of having to deal with it, and that is where I came in ….some people are not dealing with it and if monies can be found then there needs to be an increase in mental health help as people are suffering, and we will have a service that will breakdown if not financed properly.

If any of you are suffering then please contact your GP, the Samaritans or just tell someone and please do not suffer on your own. There will be happier and brighter days but that is a little bit away and we must work together and be there for each other.

As we head towards Winter please try and get that flu jab and stay safe. I know one of my own neighbours was discussing with me this morning at a safe distance that she couldn’t get over how many people were just in and out of each others houses, and not obeying the rules. We need to start helping and not hindering the Prime Minister but then he must help us and it is time to part with Matt Hancock and Dido Harding.

For him to have faith in us to do as asked, we must have faith in him and he needs to surround himself with a team who will find solutions. Sadly this is not happening and peoples health and mental health will continue to suffer and it has to stop. Feeling that we are seeing the end of it will help but with so many poor leaders dealing with it, this will not make us feel that the Government has gripped the situation.

Stay safe, stay in and stay away from people. Lets work together to get the R Rate back to where it belongs and send it further away to zero. We can only do this if we act sensibly….and I know that could be a stretch too far but it is not impossible.
