Going back into a form of lockdown because of people’s stupidity and the doubling of rates.

Living in the North West Mr Points of Sue and I have decided to go back into a semi-ish lockdown. We will only be seeing our children, grandchildren and my mother as we have all decided to have that bubble. When the government announces a further lockdown then it will be back to skype, but until then the area I live in has not been put into lockdown but we both decided that it is time to take back some form of control in a way.

I know some people will say how can she be in control in a form of lockdown but this way it will be up to us who we see and I have to bear in mind that Mr Points of Sue has a lung condition, and my mother is diabetic and only last year had a pacemaker fitted. Not the sort of situation that bodes well in a pandemic, and after a discussion with the family we decided to do this.

We limit ourselves already and only go to one shop a week and wear masks at all time when we do…infact we were wearing them before they became mandatory. Although the people who are still not wearing them is quite scary. Does these people never think it will happen to them or that the Good Lord himself has put some sort of invisible cross on their door and the plague will Passover them? I have never seen such lunacy before in my life.

I don’t know whether they are relying on the likes of you and me to put the mask on and hope it doesn’t catch them, but would it really hurt to just put one on?

I am still going to write my blog and my political magazine, and will conduct zoom meetings with clients but it is for their good and ours really as we have seen the result of people not following the advice given out. After all, you only have to see today that people are gathering in their thousands everywhere and seemingly without a care…..how nice of them not to have a care in the world but in the world I live in….I do care as I love my family too much to treat such a threat with such a cavalier attitude.

You can all remember the clapping of the NHS. Our gratitude at those key workers who put their lives at risk and on hold to make sure that we had everything we need, well how quickly that is forgotten and shame on you for not bothering.

I have never been one to be easily frightened and like to think as a former soldier I have a bit of gung ho in me, and I can argue with the devil himself and expect to win. However, this is not an enemy you can negotiate with, you cannot see it, touch it and feel it. Weapons don’t stop it and neither does an army and the only person who can stop its spread is you. If you take responsibility then the 2nd wave should be small in comparison and not put the lives of the NHS at risk.

It will enable us get back into the swing of things and reduce the risk of this country going bankrupt, because the way it is going and those who are stupid enough to go out in groups will be responsible for the much bigger 2nd wave. After all you only to see the crowd at beaches to see that this will come back……

Beachgoers enjoy the sunshine and sea at a packed Brighton beach in East Sussex this afternoon

A long line of visitors, many armed with swimming equipment, make their way to the beach at Durdle Door in Dorset

The infection rate is already doubling from last week yet people think that this is acceptable? What about the locals? How very unfair on them….

Visitors cram onto the beach at Southend-on-Sea in Essex on the hottest day of the year and the third hottest day ever today

Due the stupidity of those who refuse to behave this virus will get worse before it gets better and I for one refuse to join the crowd, and will be just blogging my way through the 2nd wave as I did the first and know that my garden will be the main beneficiary yet again.

China plans to jail those who criticise it even outside of China.

The increasingly secretive state of China has now brought in a law that could affect anyone anywhere if you criticise China. So it seems my criticism of China here in the UK could in theory have them demanding my extradition. Highly unlikely this would happen and quite literally shows how much they are clamping down on the freedom of thought and speech.

Do they honestly think that they can have a say what goes on in somebody else’s country? Or stop people from free thinking and speech?

BBC China correspondent Stephen McDonell “The new security law applies to anyone, anywhere in the world. So, if you have called for Hong Kong to be free, whatever your nationality, wherever you are, that could be punishable by a prison sentence in China.” Many people point to the vagueness of what could be deemed an infringement of the law, it is open-ended and thus could be used to target any political dissidents that the Chinese authorities perceive are a threat.

Mr McDonell said: “Crucially it’s so open-ended the Chinese government if it wants to could use the law to pick up anyone they like who challenges their authority.”

The wording of the new law states: “Hong Kong Special Administrative Region shall enact laws on its own to prohibit any act of treason, secession, sedition, subversion against the Central People’s Government, or theft of state secrets, to prohibit foreign political organisations or bodies from conducting political activities in the Region, and to prohibit political organisations or bodies of the Region from establishing ties with foreign political organisations or bodies.”

BBC China correspondent Stephen McDonell described actions that were not previously illegal but can now be deemed a breach of the law. He then went on to describe how the new security law allows the Hong Kong authorities, and in extension Beijing, the right to pursue those who infringe the law internationally. (Daily Express).

The person picked specifically by China to run the colony of Hong Kong Carrie Lam is fully supported by China and that cannot be good for democracy in Hong Kong, as she is determined to get rid of any dissenters due to her being a good political puppet for those who are pulling the strings. You can in theory be arrested for playing a tune or wearing an item that is deemed offensive, but only offensive to China, and what that entails nobody knows. This cannot bode well for the people of Hong Kong and the draconian crackdown will only get worse. After all they have locked down Chinese Muslims for just being Muslim.

Already China has listed 8 people who it wants extradited to China but the chances of that happening will be zero as they do not reside in China, but rather in the United States of America and other free countries where the freedom of speech is welcomed. The Chinese President is locking down in Hong Kong in a way I feel that is just a warm up for Taiwan and this is now becoming a scary prospect for those who will fall under the tight grip of the President.

I know the world is now dealing with the 2nd wave of Covid 19 and China are taking full advantage of it to crack down on those countries it wants to rule, but can we really just accept that they have the right to do that?

As I have stated again and again, Hong Kong progressed through the last century with the full input of the United Kingdom and we actively encouraged this jewel in our crown to develop and develop they did. Infact they became one of the fastest growing economies and what did we do??? Hand it over to a country who totalitarianism and communism will see the lights in effect go out in Hong Kong. It will go out as those who saw freedom of expression and freedom of speech and choice will be locked up in the system of Chinese jails and never seen again.

Can we really allow this?

They will be just a number of disappeared that have fallen fowl of the dictator that is Xi Jingping and we now know that repeated requests for them to be shown will be ignored. Becoming a political prisoner in any Chinese jail does not bode well for those who are jailed.

Free Governments must offer those who wish to get out the option to get out. You cannot suddenly expect a people who had the freedom of life to just give that up because of the whim of one man who is the state.

The longer we wait, the worse it will become for those in Hong Kong and as I state this is only the beginning as more and more countries will be lined to be sacrificed on the mantel of Chinese domination. We saw this in 1938 and look what happened in 1939 and sadly this is how it will end up if we don’t put a stop to it now.
