Marathon History

Well done Kenyan runner Eliud Kipchoge for making history and completing a marathon in 1hour 59minutes and 40 seconds.  He got people like me who wouldn’t normally watch a marathon rooting from the armchair and shouting with delight when he completed it.

There are a couple of things I would love…one his lungs, his stamina and his legs but lets not take away this great achievement from a man who has now set a record that people will be determined to beat and who has now made the marathon more interesting.

We know that we get the plodders and people who finish it hours later and all for charity and I am in awe of them as they really are the best of people, but this fantastic achievement by such a humble man is truly inspirational and I see a movie on the horizon.
